Mult / Div

STRATEGIES: Use known multiplication and division facts (up to 10x)

STRATEGIES: Solve division from known multiplication facts (up to 10x)

STRATEGIES: Use place value partitioning (2-digits) and known facts

STRATEGIES: Solve division problems which have remainders

KNOWLEDGE: Instantly recall the multiplication and division facts for x3, x4 and x6

Fractions

STRATEGIES: Find fractions of sets when the numerator is 1 or more than 1

STRATEGIES: Solve ratio problems using known multiplication facts or repeated addition

STRATEGIES: Convert fractions to percentages

KNOWLEDGE: Read, write and represent ALL proper fractions

KNOWLEDGE: Read, write and represent some simple improper fractions

KNOWLEDGE: Turn improper fractions into mixed numbers using multiplication

KNOWLEDGE: Fold shapes to recognise equivalent fractions

KNOWLEDGE: Put some fractions with the same numerator in order from smallest to largest or vice versa

KNOWLEDGE: Convert simple equivalent fractions related to doubling and halving

Week 1-5 Multiplication and division
Students will be developing and using a variety of different strategies to solve Multiplication and division problems.

Weeks 6-10

Students will be working towards reading writing and representing fractions in multiple ways. This will include expressing proper, mixed, equivalent and improper fractions, as well as converting fractions to percentages.
