• Read a text over many days and read multiple texts related to the same topic. 

Purposes and audiences

• Identify the author's purpose, explain the ways they have used language and ideas to suit their purpose and evaluate the impact of the message. 

Ideas 

• Identify and summarize the main ideas in a text by using key words, topic sentences, key questions, headings and subheadings. 

TERM 2

This term our reading topics will directly link to what we are learning in class for our school wide focus (our local environment)

Students will be reading in their topic groups and be reading texts which link directly to this. 

The two topics are: forgaing for food (water) and forgaing for food (garden)
