Year 6

Pānui (Notices)

We have had a fantastic start to the year in year 6 and are looking forward to another great term as we head into term 2. 

You can find a overview of weekly proprieties on this portal as well as what we have planned in term 2 for each curriculum area. Further detailed instruction about classroom learning and tasks will be posted on students' google classroom accounts.

Camp

During Week 5 of Term 2, the Year 6’s will take part in a week of activities and spend two nights at Camp Carey in Henderson Valley. Year 6 camp is a huge learning experience for students that builds self management skills, resilience and teamwork while challenging students with new experiences. 

BIKE TRACK

This term students will have weekly Bike Track time on
Monday middle block. 


Students are encouraged to bring their own bikes however, bikes and scooters are available at school for students to use. All students MUST wear a helmet.

SWIMMING

Swimming Lessons
Weeks 2 & 3, Term 2 Tuesday - Friday


Swimming lessons will take place at Swim Magic each day. We will bus to and from Swim Magic on Morrin Road where lessons are taken by trained swimming instructors and students are grouped by swimming ability. 

FOOTBALL

The Bay Suburbs Football competition will take place on
Thursday 18 May in
week 4.


Teachers will be collecting student names for sign up shortly. Depending on numbers, trials may be needed. 

NETBALL

The Bay Suburbs Netball competition will take place on
Wednesday 28 June in week 10.

Year 6 Weekly timetable for term 2 

The Kea crossing duty roster has been posted on hero and is displayed in all year 6 classrooms. 

Kea Crossing duty is morning (meet 8.20am in the school office) until 8.55am; afternoon 2.50pm until 3.15pm. Students are trained and assessed by Constable Gordon and will be responsible for turning up to their duty on time and on the right day.
