School Tours at Greenmarkets introduce the concepts of seasonality, local food and sustainability agriculture. Your curricula are grade-level appropriate and involve an exploratory walk-through of the market, fun seasonal tastings of Greenmarket farmer products, and take-home activities and recipes. Tours are available at any of our weekday Greenmarkets and lasts about 45-60 minutes. Tours cost $42, schools with student bodies over 70% eligible for free lunch will receive a most stipend of Greenmarket Bucks to shop with at the end of the tour.

GrowNYC offers field trips at the Teaching Garden giving kids the opportunity to plant, water, harvest, and cook the garden's wide array of vegetables, herbs, and fruit. The Teaching Garden offers field trips for NYC students (grades K-12) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from April 18th through November 9th, departing on either the 10am or 11am ferry. There is a $50 fee per class, however no school will be turned away for inability to donate or pay the field trip fee.
The New York Botanical Garden becomes a 250-acre classroom for you and your students to explore. Active learning takes place in three unique Garden grounds.
