The Emergent Multilingual Learners Language Profile Protocol (EMLLPP) supports early childhood teaching teams in advancing positive outcomes for Emergent Multilingual Learner (EMLLs) children and families. Using the EMLLPP will support teaching teams in gaining valuable information about Emergent Multilingual Learners (EMLLs), promote strong instructional and family engagement practices, and strengthen the language and literacy development of children in their home language and in English. Use of the EMLLPP is strongly recommended for all programs.
Refer to the detailed Guidance for Implementing the Emergent Multilingual Learners Language Profile Protocol (EMLLPP), and find access to the pre-K surveys on the Supporting Multilingual Learners page on InfoHub.
Note that all surveys are fillable, and available in the 9 DOE languages on InfoHub (with more languages available on the New York State Education Department’s Office of Early Learning site).
