The Catholic School shall be distinguished by its unique curriculum which shall be designed to provide instruction not only in human knowledge and skills, but also in religious truths and Gospel values. 

BASIC CURRICULUM 

St. Rita Catholic School Curriculum

St. Rita Catholic School curriculum is structured around the standards set by the Office of Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Dallas as outlined in the Diocesan Saints and Scholars Curriculum Standards. Our curriculum provides developmentally appropriate instruction across grade levels in the following areas of study: 

• Religion

• Literacy

• Mathematics

• Science

• Social Studies

• Information Literacy 

• Health

• Music

• Physical Education

• Languages Other Than English (LOTE)

• Art

• Dramatic Play (PreK4)

• Science Laboratory for Directed Science Labs

• Various Exploratory Courses

The term “major subjects” means religion, math, science, social studies, and literacy. In grades 5-8, Spanish is added as a “major subject.” Students in 5th and 6th grade take both Spanish and STREAM Lab as core classes, along with a selection of exploratory courses. In 7th and 8th grade, Spanish remains a core requirement while students expand their learning through additional exploratory electives.
