You can access the Wooster Middle School Library online catalog from home by clicking on the Destiny icon above. Select Wooster Middle school from the list. Use Web Path Express for pre-selected and grade level appropriate web sites.


Gale Virtual Reference e-books collection. Hundreds of reference books are available online 24/7 through this site. You do not need a password to access this at school. You will need one from home.

Encyclopedia Britannica Online: Use this site as a good starting point for any research. Includes sections for several different grade levels. From the home page you can chose a level to start searching. Password needed.

World Geography and Culture Online boosts the study of countries, places, peoples, and geography. This site makes it easy to study all areas of a country, with facts at a glance and in-depth coverage. Password needed.

Noodle Tools

Online tools for note-taking, outlining, citation, document archiving/annotation, and collaborative research and writing.

The Connecticut Digital Library/Research IT CT (formerly iConn): Among the items available are Magazines and Newspapers; People, Places and Events (Discovering Collection and Wilson Biographies Plus. To access from home, you'll need a public library card. When asked, enter that card number to link to the databases.

Stratford Public Library: More than just books. Use the library web page to look up information on all sorts of information about the town and the world. You will need your library patron barcode number to access its virtual references, databases and e-book collections.

This new database will help you safely and effectively navigate the digital world. Articles explore cyberbullying, digital etiquette, social networking and keeping your online information private all through the use of real word websites. Password needed.

Provides middle school and high school students with information on diseases, drugs, alcohol, nutrition, mental health, bullying, green living, financial literacy, and more. Password needed.

Encyclopedia Smithsonian: This is a starting point, not a destination, but you will find factual pages on specific topics and it's great for exploring all your different interests.

The World Factbook: Contains up to date information on the cultural, geographical, political and economic aspects of various countries around the world. Also includes flags of the world and reference maps.

The Library of Congress American Memory Collection contains millions of digital items that document American history and culture. You can browse dozens of collections containing images of items throughout the history of the United States.

Reference Desk: Loaded with various sources of information. News, newspapers, magazine, dictionaries, reference tools, etc.

Webster's Online Dictionary: Search for more than just words or phrases.You can use the online Thesaurus or Spanish-English Dictionary. Try the link for word games too.

Webster's Visual Dictionary: A quick glance at the index is all it takes to connect words with images. Search the themes to quickly locate words, or find the meaning of a word by viewing the image it represents.
