My name is Don Robinson I was born and raised in Stratford. I am married with three kids. I have been in management for 35 years and I have 4.5 years of federal experience. I have owned my own businesses for many years but for the last 3 years I have been the owner of multiple Taxicompanies. The companies I own are Stratford Taxi, Stonetown Taxi, Oxford Taxi and Country Airporter. Working in the taxi business you get to talk to a number of citizens everyday and you hear their concerns.
I am running for the citizens of Stratford with my main focuses being Mental Health, Policing, Transit, and Infrastructure.I would love to see the old Avon Crest building turned into a spot to help citizens with mental health issues. They could go there and get the help and support they need. I would also get the homeless off the streets and would get them out of trying to live in the bus shelters and the entrances of the banks. That would open the bank machines up to 24 hours again, and would also free up the police to go to other calls they need to attend because there would be professionals in the mental health field ready to help. I have been involved in the community volunteering from coaching hockey, umpiring baseball and helping at a number of different events in the community.
I would like to thank the Stratford Chamber of Commerce for their hard work during covid making available all the rapid tests and the support for the small businesses and all the service clubs. If I get elected I would vote to get the parades back to the Kinsman Club. I am the ears and voice for everyone in Stratford. On October 24th vote Don Robinson for council.

Each Candidate was asked to respond to the eight questions below with a limit of 100 words per answer. We have identified any truncated content with “...[]” Please feel free to reach out to each candidate for more information.
1. What will be your unique contribution to council?
My unique contribution to the council would be to be able to work and get things done in a timely manner. Being able to bring vision for the city of Stratford to make Stratford a better place for everyone.
2. How will you tackle urban sprawl and protect prime agricultural land?
I would tackle urban sprawland and protect prime agricultural land by buildings higher instead of wide. This way we are not taking farmland and the animal habitats but you are still getting homes and businesses.
3. How will you encourage businesses and individuals to respond to climate change?
I would teach and educate people on how their actions affect the climate and how small changes in your daily routine can make a big difference in tackling climate change.
4. What is your idea(s) to attract new industry to Stratford?
First to attract new industries we have to fix the housing problem. There is not enough affordable housing for people to be able to relocate here to work. Also fixing the issue of mental health and doing more to help the people that need it instead of acting like this isn't an issue would help get the homeless off the streets.
5. How will you address wealth inequality, homelessness and poverty in Stratford?
I would address it by working on the problem of Mental Health And get it under control. I would love to see the Avon crest building being turned into a spot to help with this.
6. How will you engage and inform the public about current issues and legislation?
I would engage and inform the public about issues by having an open council.
7. Would you support term limits? Why/why not?
Yes I think 2 terms is the max someone should be in office. If anyone is in there longer than 2 terms things don't get done in a timely manner.
8. What is your plan to better engage youth in Stratford?
I would plan to better engage the youth in Stratford by getting them involved in politics and getting involved in different boards within the city. They are the next generation to take over. The more information they learn now will help them take over next.
