Have you ever been told that you aren't struggling enough? That you should be breaking your back, working two jobs, taking care of the kids, all while being a single parent-- even if you don't have kids... When do YOU get to take a breath?
At Strange & Selfless, we believe that the answer should never be "just work harder," it's "how can I help?" Just because somebody's struggle doesn't look like your own, doesn't mean you're a failure, it doesn't mean you should be embarrassed, it doesn't mean you aren't trying. What it means is that you are a fellow human who needs help, needs support, needs someone who will listen.
We are that somebody. We will help. We will give you that breath of relief when all others turn their back, & when we can't, we will try our hardest to get you to someone who can. Caring about your fellow human isn't radical; it's just basic human decency.
So let's show how we support our community, Strange & Selfless style.
From food to clothes, hygiene products, baby supplies, and more. We are always looking for items to include in care packages for our neighbors in need. Reach out or look for our upcoming events to plan your donations. We appreciate anything you are willing to give!
Want to lend a hand? Picking up donations, dropping off care packages, sorting, and cleaning items would be some of the duties for a volunteer helper with Strange & Selfless. Reach out if you are interested or have any questions!
Unlike a volunteer helper, mentors are focused on maintaining contact with individuals/families we assist & being a support system for those we help by goal-setting, checking in, providing resources, and just being someone to talk to.
