PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) is a school-wide approach to teaching and reinforcing positive behavior. Instead of only addressing negative behavior, PBIS focuses on encouraging students to make good choices and live by our core values.
Responsible – Taking ownership of your actions and doing your best.
Respectful – Treating others, yourself, and school property with kindness.
Faithful – Being trustworthy, honest, and committed to following our Catholic values.
Safe – Making choices that protect yourself and others.
By consistently teaching and reinforcing these values, PBIS helps students build important life skills, strengthens the school community, and creates a safe and supportive learning environment for everyone.
Talk with your child about these values and give examples of how they can practice them at home.
Praise and reinforce positive behavior when you see it.
Encourage reflection by asking questions like, “How did you show respect today?” or “What safe choice did you make?”
Model these behaviors yourself to show that the values matter both at school and at home.
