The school counselor supports students’ academic, social-emotional, and spiritual growth. I work with students individually, in small groups, and in classrooms to help them develop skills for success and well-being.
School counseling is short-term, skill-focused support that takes place during the school day. It helps students with things like friendships, conflict resolution, study habits, and managing emotions. Therapy, offered outside of school, often provides longer-term, in-depth mental health treatment.
If your child is struggling with friendships, adjusting to changes, managing emotions, or needs extra support with organization and school success, counseling may be helpful. If you’re unsure, please reach out and I’d be happy to talk with you.
It depends on each child’s needs. Some students benefit from just a few sessions, while others meet more regularly over a longer period. I’ll keep you updated if ongoing support seems helpful.
Yes. What students share with me is private unless they give me permission to share it, or if there is a concern for their safety or the safety of others. I do partner with parents to best support students, while respecting their privacy.
Students can ask to see me on their own, or be referred by a parent or teacher. Parents can reach out by email, phone, or by completing the referral form linked on this page.
