Working at SPAS
Thank you for your interest in Saint Paul American Scholars!
UPDATED September 4th, 2025:
Tips for Applicants:
Please make sure your CV/resume, cover letter, and accompanying documents have your name in the title of the file. We have already received dozens of applications already - many just titled "CV". Let us know you own it! Try this:
(Your Name) - (Resume/Cover Letter) - (Campus/Role)
To build a strong case for our consideration, please only send complete applications and not emails of inquiry - all job postings are here and updated!
We are working through our applicants as quickly as possible for schedule interviews.
Direct applicants may continue to apply with their resume, cover letter, and letters of recommendation to admins@stpaulsuwon.com. You may address your cover letters to our School Principal; Mr. Aiello
Reminder: Please check this list of basic qualifications for each role before applying - including visa requirements - please note that candidates who do not have the proper visa or citizenship will not be contacted.
The Interview Process
Interviews will take place either on GoogleMeet or, preferably, in person on the relevant campus. Please be sure to update your resume to show your most current experience, and prepare your questions about the school and the program ahead of time.
Candidates who feel strongly about our program are encouraged to write a letter of introduction that includes your reasons for joining SPAS and your planned contributions to the program - this can accompany your resume at the start or the end of the document.
We will send a Confidential Reference Form to the references of all candidates. To expedite your application process, and for it to be successful, this form must be completed.
If you are a viable candidate, we will send a pre-screening form ahead of the interview. An interview will only be possible after this form is filled out.
All candidates are expected to dress professionally, no matter if the interview is online or in person, and arrive at the interview on time. We will see you there!
Reasons to work at Saint Paul American Scholars
Saint Paul American Scholars is on a continuous cycle of improvement with education, teachers, and students as our central focus. As an accredited institution, we drive our decision-making on data that we can see, understand, and apply. Our team of administrators are all educators with backgrounds and experiences in the classrooms and staff leadership roles. To be a part of the SPAS team is to share beliefs in education on every level of our organization.
We offer both short-term and long-term benefits, signing bonuses, Korean Health Insurance, and support for teachers coming from abroad for the first time to work with us. In addition, we organize and deliver in-house professional development sessions, support internships for teaching certificates and licensing, as well as in-house training on technology and logistics for the day-to-day. And we are still growing.
Part of working at SPAS is conducting two after-school activities every week. Those activities are designed by our teachers based on their interests and passions. We have several activities that are staples of our school – yearbook, Student Council, and SPAS news - for those teachers who want to be involved on a larger level and make a bigger impact on our campus culture.
We want our team to have a healthy work/life balance. Living in the Dongtan, Gwanggyo, or Bundang area, you are connected to Seoul and Suwon through public transportation. Nearby the school there are large shopping malls, dozens of restaurants, a variety of grocery stores, rivers, and mountain hiking paths.
Points for Consideration
We are a fully accredited school with international and Korean students
The location of the school is great for those who love city life or the ones who would like to be more in touch with nature.
Our school is constantly growing and expanding. That means there is plenty of room for career growth
Admirable Traits in our Team Members
Our teachers need to be experienced, creative and have a strong work ethic. SPAS seeks to work with educators – individuals who understand that being in the classroom is more than delivering a lesson, but know methods of differentiation, data analysis, teamwork, communication, and a focus on the holistic child rather than just the grade they earn.
Look us up! Click the accreditor icons below to view their directory!
Accreditation ensures academic quality for students and institutional quality for teachers and staff. All of a school's processes are reviewed, stakeholders are interviewed, surveys are collected, and evaluations made of the school subject to accreditation. MSA, the Middle States Association, is the very same regional accreditor that verifies schools and universities in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Each accreditor is a partner with SPAS in building a pathway to a better school year after year.
