The last day to submit AVID applications for the 2026-2027 school year is April 3!!.
AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination—but really, it’s a class where you learn how to level up your school game with people who actually have your back.
In AVID, you’re part of a team. You support each other, push each other, and work toward real goals—whether that’s college, a career, or just becoming more confident in yourself.
You’ll challenge yourself by taking harder classes, staying organized, and actually understanding your work (not just turning it in and hoping for the best). And you won’t be doing it alone—AVID gives you the support to figure things out, ask questions, and get better.
AVID also focuses on who you are, not just what you do. You’ll learn more about yourself, your values, and how to stay strong and make good choices—even in hard situations.
This is a class for students who want more for themselves—who are ready to grow, lead, and own their learning, with a strong community behind them.
An AVID student is someone who has that inner drive to succeed—but also understands they don’t have to do it alone.
In AVID, community matters. We support each other, push each other, and show up for each other. Everyone is working toward their own goals, but no one is doing it by themselves.
AVID gives you the tools, the support, and the guidance to grow. Your teacher and your classmates are there to help—but at the end of the day, it’s up to you to put in the effort and own your success.
AVID is a place where students come together to build skills and get support that will help us in all of our other classes. AVID IS NOT ORGANIZED STUDY HALL. It's where to get help with content that's confusing, reflect on academic progress, and set goals for the short and long term. Most importantly, AVID is a community where students support and encourage each other. In a lot of ways, AVID is like your "home" at school!
College and career readiness is a central focus of the AVID program. While college may not be part of everyone's academic journey, AVID students work to academic and professional skills that will help them, regardless of what they do after high school. AVID students learn and do research about colleges and careers, as well as going on college visits and field trips focused on careers.
