School Council

About Us

Our School Council is elected every year in September. There are two representatives from every class in the school. Our goal is to give the pupils of St Patrick's BNS a voice. At our meetings, the representatives share ideas from their classes and we vote on which ones to take action on. We also share how things are going for us in school, what's working well and what we can improve.

Two years ago, the School Council decided to create a newsletter. The Senior School Council boys from 5th and 6th class are not the only ones who contribute.  Every boy on our school council and, even in our school helps, from the younger boys giving their ideas, to the teachers and students who help with news, everybody puts in their best effort to make this possible.

Our Trip to the Children's Ombudsman

In October our senior school council boys teamed up with the girl's school pupils' council and we went to the Children's Ombudsman in Dublin city centre. We had a great day and learned all about children's rights. We got to see their offices and sign their wall. When we got back to school we taught our classes about what we learned. It was a really fun day!
