Outstanding Projects!

Below you will find some examples of outstanding work turned in by some of our students. There is a brief description of the project and an audio file. ENJOY!


Songwriting 101 Project:

  • With this project, you are going to explore the process of writing a simple (or complex) song.
  • 36 measures long
  • Contain an original recording of something using the VOCAL MIC

Ringtone/Text Tone Project:

  • Ringtone must be between 15-30 seconds in length.
  • Text Tone must be no more than 5 seconds in length.


12 Bar Blues Project:

  • Using the chord progression for a 12 bar blues, students were to create two choruses of music, and also write and record lyrics in the style of BB King's, "Everyday I've Got the Blues".

Cover Band Project:

  • The purpose of this project is to practice listening critically to music and using the skills your have acquired, to create a fresh idea from something old. We will be taking basic children’s songs and “covering” them to create a new version of the song.

Podcast Project:

  • In this project, we explored writing music and creating content for a short, 3 minute podcast. Students were encouraged to be as unique as possible and gain ideas from existing podcasts.


Loops and Drummer:

  • Create a 32 bar song using 10 tracks of loops and the drummer feature.

Final Project:

  • The final project will take all the information gathered and gain this semester and apply it into one project. Songs music be a minimum of 3:30 and contain specified instruments, an A and B section, and can be in any key.
