The Texas-based Century Plant is the most successful carbon capture facility in North America, absorbing 8.4 million tonnes of carbon dioxide annually.
The top three largest carbon capture and storage projects in North America are Shute Creek, Great Plains Synfuel, and Petra Nova, all located in the United States. These facilities are responsible for 11.6 MTPA.
Canada’s Boundary Dam project is the fifth largest carbon capture facility, taking in 1 MTPA.
