The International Energy Agency (IEA) released a report titled "2023 Carbon Dioxide Emissions" and said carbon dioxide emissions from the energy sector reached an all-time high. According to the report, energy-related carbon dioxide emissions amounted to 37.4 billion tons last year, up 410 million tons from 2022, or about 1.1%. This data shows that carbon emissions continue to increase.
The IPCC(Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) is an organization established in 1988 by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), which are specialized agencies of the United Nations. It assesses the risks of human activities to climate change and prepares reports. The role of the IPCC bring together climate scientists to inform climate change risks and gives directs each government's actions on the basis of scientific evidence.
According to IPCC data, Global mean sea level (GMSL) rose faster in the 20th century than in any prior century over the last three millennia. GMSL rise has accelerated since the late 1960s, with an average rate of 2.3 [1.6 to 3.1] mm yr over the period 1971–2018 increasing to 3.7 [3.2 to 4.2] mm yr over the period 2006–2018. Seeing carbon emissions and sea level rise continuously, the amount of carbon emissions is related to the rise of the sea level. Therefore, many countries felt this seriously and thought that the Paris Agreement, and carbon emissions had problems, so they were working hard to reduce carbon emissions. As a result, they are trying to prevent sea level rise by returning the temperature rise to pre-industrial times by requiring carbon neutrality policies and NDS (Nationally Determined Contribution) to be submitted to each member country every five years.
