Outdoor Education at Stoney Education Authority is a journey that begins in Kindergarten and continues through Grade 9. Each grade level program connects directly to Alberta Education curriculum and builds on the experiences of the year before.
Students learn through the seasons with activities such as wildlife discovery, plant and tree studies, survival skills, water systems, and biodiversity projects. These hands-on experiences bring science, math, language arts, and social studies to life in the outdoors.
As students move from grade to grade, their skills, confidence, and understanding of the natural world grow stronger. This journey is guided by Outdoor Education Coordinators who create opportunities for learning that extend beyond the classroom, foster cultural connections, and inspire environmental responsibility.
