After putting in 27 years in teaching, both in India and abroad, I thank the Almighty and give Him all the glory for enabling me to successfully defend my PhD thesis with Osmania University, Hyderabad, India on June 19th, 2025. My thesis is titled - 'Developing Instruments for English Language Competence and Soft Skills: Towards Career Guidance' under the supervision of Prof C. Muralikrishna - Former Dean, UCA&SS, Osmania University.
Received my PhD degree at the 84th Convocation of Osmania University. First and foremost I wish to thank the Almighty for His goodness. Will always be grateful to my Supervisor @Prof C. Muralikrishna and everyone who supported me in accomplishing this.I wish to thank the Management of St. Mary's College, Yousufguda, Jojo Mathew George , Director- Higher Education, Dr. Jaimole Cross- Principal St. Mary's College, Yousufguda for their constant support.
Dr J. Michael Preetham presented a paper titled, “The Human Algorithm: Impact of Educator–AI Synergy in Language Learning” at A Two-Day International Conference on Use of Mass Media Cultures for English Language Teaching, Training and Learning held on13 & 14 October 2025 organized by English Teachers Forum (ETF) Bharath in collaboration with CBIT Hyderabad.
Ms Mehanur Mondal and Dr J. Michael Preetham presented a paper titled, ‘Multilingual or Misplaced: A Comparative Study of Literary and Cultural Perception Amongst Mobile and Static Polyglots in Hyderabad’ at International Conference -Plural Pasts, Shared Futures: Global Literary Interconnections Organized by Department of English, Osmania University in collaboration with University of Western Australia, Perth, WA and Association for the Study of Australasia in Asia (ASAA).

Dr J. Michael Preetham and Mr Sai Kiran attended the Annual Departmental Conference conducted by the Department of English, Osmania University on 29th August at UCASS, Osmania University. Over 300 English teachers from campus, constituent, and affiliated colleges under Osmania jurisdiction attended the Conference.
Dr J. Michael Preetham was one of the authors of the book 'English Edge'. The Registrar Prof. G. Naresh Reddy released the UG First year General English Text book titled English Edge, published by Orient Blackswan, during the inaugural session of the conference.
Dr J Michael Preetham delivered two sessions on: 22/7.2025 – Topic: Career Choices & Soft Skills and on 25/7/2025 – Topic: LSRW, at the CENTRE FOR ENGLISH LANGUAGE TRAINING- University College of Engineering, Osmania University.
Dr. Michael Preetham, Head Department of Social Sciences and Humanities was a panellist for a Discussion on Future Forward: Building Careers Through Postgraduate Opportunities Organized by OP Jindal Global University in collaboration with St Mary’s College, Hyderabad on 15th December 2025
