PSHE

Stereotypes

In our PSHE lesson this week, we have been looking at stereotypes and what this means. We have been focusing on disability and how not all disabilities are visible so it is important not to make a judgement based on what you see. We talked about how some people do stereotype which can sometimes lead to discrimination. This is where some people make judgements about someone based on what they're characteristics and make an assumption. We then looked at  various different inspirational, disabled people and what makes them inspirational. Some examples included John Churcher, Lee Ridley, Elle Robinson and Andrew Bright. The children then completed their own biography based on what they found out about their chosen inspirational disabled person.
