We have been learning about where Rock and Roll originated and what instruments are often used. In our first lesson, we learned the hand jive! The children were absolutely amazing and we even filmed ourselves because they were that awesome!

This term, we are learning all about body percussion which is linked to our Rainforests topic. We learnt that body percussion is any sound made using only our bodies, for example: clapping our hands together, clicking our fingers, stamping our feet etc. We also looked at some different musical structures - this helped us to listen out for the type of structure used in the song we were listening to! We listened to a choir recreating a thunderstorm and found that it had 7 layers to it! The choir used only their bodies to create the different sounds of a thunderstorm. We then had a go at recreating our own thunderstorm noises using body percussion!
