There are 5 potential sports medicine employees the students would be observing. We also have a physical Therapist that comes in 2x/week to help student-athletes out.
Specific responsibilities depend on the students' availability and interests.
Day-to-day would include:
Watching injury evaluations.
Observing practices/ games.
Watching rehabs (potentially creating a plan if they have the background/ knowledge with classes).
Observing the administration side of the athletic trainers' job as we deal with insurance, claims, and injury reports.

University of California Berkeley’s Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting 3 applications for Volunteer Interns for the Fall of 2022. We are looking to fill positions immediately, the internship will conclude at the end of 2022-2023 football season.This is an unpaid position. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for Football, set up and break down for daily training, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, and completion of the internship curriculum.
Required qualifications include a STRONG work ethic, completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study. All applicants should have, or be working towards an accredited certification (CSCS or SCCC). Other preferred qualifications include previous coaching experience in the private sector or a collegiate setting and personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport.

The Bentley Athletic Internship Program is designed for students who are interested in a career
in sport management and operations. This internship is unpaid but students who actively coach or own their own athletic focused business may qualify for stipend based Life Fitness program.

The internship is broken up into 3 parts. First is our Art of Leadership where interns have weekly meetings on leadership going over three different leadership books and presenting on the chapters they are assigned. The 2nd part is working in Sports Management under one of the managers offering the internship which right now is myself in HR doing hiring, training, recruitment, our Marketing Director, and our Proceeds Director. The last part in being a Youth Sports Coach (which is the foundation of what we are) coaching single and multisport camps, learning from us, and applying internship life skills to the youth athletes. The meetings our via Zoom Virtually but the coaching is in person.
