Below you will find information you need at home to help your student use the technology resources we provide at St. Mary's. Here is the specific information for each grade level.
We are a Google Apps for Education (GAFE) school. This means that all students and faculty have Google IDs and can access the multitude of resources that Google Apps has to offer. Students create and save their work in their Google Drive which can be accessed from any internet enabled device. Also, many classes use Google Classroom for viewing assignments and submitting their digital work. Grades 3-8 have access to Gmail and this email can only be sent internally to other SMS email addresses; Grades 3-5 have more restricted email settings.
From home, students can log into their accounts using Google and the following (see the picture below; the domain is required!):
Username: firstname.lastname@stmaryofthemills.org
Most students have their own self-created passwords
We provide IXL Math and Language Arts practice for all 3rd-8th grade students.
Website: http://ixl.com/signin/stmarymills
Username: Old Student ID (in the case of newer students: firstinitiallastname)
Students may use Zearn to practice their math skills. Grades K-4 should Sign in with Google.
Grades K-8 use TypingClub to increase their key recognition and typing skills while some students also use Typing.com because it is their preference. For either, students sign in with Google using their SMS Google account as explained at the top of this page.

Typing.com: https://www.typing.com/student/login
All K-8 students have code.org accounts using their SMS Google accounts.
This is an optional early finisher activity during Tech class for all 1st-8th grade students. Many students have Prodigy accounts for individualized game-based math learning. Most students sign in with Google using their SMS Google account. If students don't currently have accounts and want to join, please email Mrs. Keplinger for the class codes.

Google has partnered with a number of organizations to develop a new curriculum. Along with the games in Interland, they have created a Family Link Guide for Parents, which explains how Google's app works in addition to giving suggestions for setting digital boundaries for children.
