Class Vision

I hope all of you had an enjoyable summer break, and I welcome you back for another exciting year at St. Mary Magdalen. We have high expectations for our middle school students. Our mission begins with accountability. We want to inspire your children to explore and deepen their faith in Jesus while realizing that every day, we are blessed with the free will to make good choices. These choices will encompass kindness and mutual respect for one another and will allow your children to grow academically, emotionally and most importantly, spiritually. The gift I want to impart to my students is an appreciation for life's miracles. To quote Albert Einstein, "There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle."

This is a gift that I want to instill in your child. I want him/her to realize that everything is a miracle. I want students to recognize that there are connections in everything that we learn about in class. I want to instill in them a zest for the beautiful life and the world that God has created for us.

I want to make them better stewards of God's Earth, and teach them to care about everyone and everything. It is this passion for life that I want to fill their souls, to create not just lifelong learners, but lifelong believers in Jesus Christ.

I want the students to move forward, knowing they are not alone in the world. We are all connected to each other through God. I want to help them build a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

I want students to take with them the spirit of God and the strength to know they can persevere in anything that life brings their way. I want each and every child to feel loved and to feel special.

Finally, it is my goal to encourage this atmosphere of love. As St. Paul so eloquently said, "Love is patient, love is kind, love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way, it is not irritable or resentful, it does not rejoice in wrong doing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes in all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends” (I Corinthians 13:4-8, New Revised Standard). It is this love that St. Paul spoke about that I want to nurture in each child; the love of God that they belong and that God has a purpose for their life, to fill their hearts and the hearts of others to believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior.

Please join me with the hope, faith, and love of God to help your child grow to his/her full potential as believers.
