Current Event Report
You must find one article pertaining to a Spanish speaking country for extra credit. Students may only complete one extra credit event report per trimester. It is possible to earn up to 20 pts., which will then be added to your lowest scoring assignment for the trimester.
How to prepare your current event report:
Find an article from a reliable news source. Here are a few that I use:

Read the article completely.
Identify the type of news the article is about –
Sports
Culture
Media (Music, Movies, TV)
Politics
Environment
Business
Crime
Health and Wellness
Traveling/ Tourist Interest
This may be hand written or a typed report that includes the following:
Title of the article
Name of the reporter/writer
Date of the article
Source of article (website where you got it from)
Country or City that is the focus of the article
A paragraph summarizing the article. (4 sentences minimum)
What is the article trying to say?
Who are the important people or companies?
What happened/is happening?
What was the outcome?
A paragraph explaining why you believe the article is important in some way. (4 sentences minimum)
What impact does the event have on the country?
Is this event important to the world in anyway?
Who will be impacted/effected by this event?
Who or what will this event help?
Will it affect relations with the United States in any way?
A paragraph expressing your reaction to the article. (4 sentences minimum)
How do you feel about this article – angry, sad, upset, worried, etc.? Why?
Will you be personally impacted by the events in this article? If so, how?
Have you experienced anything similar? What was it?
What do you want to happen in regards to this article?
Does this article change your opinion of anything? Does it reinforce your opinion of anything? How or why?
