Grados 6-8 For our next class, please bring two separate photos of any size (black and white or in color) that include ones family member and the other photo include two family members, alive or deceased. You may use one pet as the family member and or the other photo with two pets as the family members. You may use the same person/pet in both photos. There may only be two people/pets in the second photo. These photos may not include others in the background. For example, I am using a photo of my cousin and the other photo includes my grandmother and grandfather. Please make sure you have approval from a parent(s) to bring these photos to class. The photos will return home without damage(s). For example, students will not be drawing or cutting the photo. Please note, if you do not remember to bring or leave the photos in your locker, you will receive a mark on your responsibility card and a 0 out of 20 points. You have plenty of time (a week) to choose two photos. The photos are critical to complete the second step of our December lessons - la familia, la ropa y el verbo, llevar. Por el miercoles - el 10 de diciembre.
Grados 6-8 Search for a Catholic saint from a Spanish-speaking country. Your research must include their name, birthday (month and day if possible), por ejemplo el 22 de noviembre de 1825, feast day, birthplace, including the town/city/country (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and their significance. All parts must be in Spanish. I have prepared students during class so there should not be confusion. https://gcatholic.org/saints/countries is an excellent site. Recuerda...Remember there are 21 official Spanish-speaking countries. Skip Puerto Rico and Guinea Ecuatorial. A few of students must choose another saint. In class, we discussed that students may not choose the same saint, which is why I instructed them to choose two.
To incorporate a modern touch to this project, students will learn new fall vocabulary, review interrogative words and a get a sneak peek not only to ER and IR regular verbs, but also stem-changing verbs. In class, we discussed the following questions, which will allow each student to use their imagination and determine information of their chosen saint. Another idea....answer the fall-themed questions below if you were the saint. If your saint was approved, you may start brainstorming possible answers. See questions below. Your answers must be appropriate as discussed in class. Also, each student will eventually need to find a picture of their chosen saint. If you decide to create a PowerPoint, please save the picture to your SMS file. If you create a poster board, I will provide one for you, if wanted. You may use any color poster board. Additional pictures must align with the answers below. Some more ideas for pictures would be a map/flag/country outline, etc. for visuals. Please include three adjectives to describe chosen saint (remember to follow gender rule....masculine/feminine.
