Geography and ancient History of the Eastern Hemisphere
Geographic Place & Region
This week, students will continue to review geographic location and practice latitude and longitude as we move on to the next two themes of geography-- Geographic Place and Region. We will discuss the characteristics that define specific places and identify geographic similarities that make places part of a broader region. Students will also build geographic vocabulary that will be used frequently throughout the year. We will have our first geography quiz next week covering location, place, and region.
This Friday we will have our first map quiz covering countries in Southwestern Europe. We will review the locations of these countries everyday in class. Also, make sure to take advantage of the practice links to prepare. Please remember, this is more of an enrichment activity. While students are graded and expected to perform well, they will have multiple opportunities to retake these quizzes and improve their scores.
We will have a quiz next Wednesday covering Geographic Location, Place, and Region next Wednesday 9/16.
