Boys Basketball

Boys’ basketball is a winter sport and is a competitive program. The season starts approximately in the first week of November and continues through mid February. Practices can commence only after football playoffs are completed.

The 5^th and 6^th grades compete in the the NWCC. There are between 6 and 17 players on the roster. SMAA will conduct a tryout if there are 18 or more players interested in participating. Players regularly attending practices and games play equally.

The 7^th and 8^th grades participate in the NWCC. There are between 6 and 14 players on the roster. SMAA will conduct a tryout if there are 15 or more players interested in participating. In 7^th grade the game is more competitive. Players regularly attending practices and games should play at least one quarter. In 8^th grade the competitive level increases over the 7^th grade. The game situation may dictate participation, but all will get time.
