2018-2019 Cross Country Registration

Cross-country is a fall sport and is a no cut program. There is no minimum or maximum number of participants. The season begins approximately in mid August and continues through mid October.

The junior varsity consists of 5^th and 6^th grade boys and girls and competes in the Northwest Catholic Conference (NWCC).

The varsity consists of 7^th and 8^th grade boys and girls. The varsity competes in the NWCC and the Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA).

The Running Club is comprised of 4th grade boys and girls. They participate in one invitational meet held at Saint Viator High School.

SMAA will consider sending 7^th and 8^th grade teams only to IESA state run meets. Cross country participation in IESA state meets allows for only seven boy and seven girl runners to compete. In the event that girl or boy varsity rosters are insufficient to compete in the IESA meets, Junior Varsity participants will be permitted to be moved up to compete.
