I used a Micro:Bit in my classroom! A Micro:Bit is a small computer that can be coded to play games, show emotions, and say words! I coded my Micro:Bit to say my name and show emotions such as a happy face, frowny face, and an animation of a happy face to a frowny face. The Micro:Bit has three buttons an A button, a B button, and a reset button. you can code the buttons to do different things such as if you press the A button it could display a happy face on the screen.
This is the code that shows emotions.
This code is to display the words Evan! or Even!
I used my Micro:Bit to be used as a compass! I used the Micro:Bit's sensor to turn the Micro:Bit into a compass.
This code tells the Micro:Bit to display N, E, S,or W when pointing at a certain angle.
I used my Micro:Bit to show how bright it is and to play sound. The Micro:Bit does this because of the sensor just like a compass! The Micro:Bit does all of this because I hacked the Micro:Bit by using wires and hooking them up to something that outputs sound it will play sound at a certain light level!
This code shows that when the light is at a certain light level to play a sound.
For my final Micro:Bit project of the year I made a sorting necklace based on the sorting hat from the movie and book series Harry Potter. You can wear this around your neck anytime anywhere! All you have to do is click the A and B button and it will tell you what Hogwarts house you are in. For coding I made this! This tells you what to do and how to activate your device. After when you click the magic buttons it will choose a random number 0-3 and depending on which number it chooses it will say GRYFFINDOR! HUFFLEPUFF! RAVENCLAW! or SLYTHERIN! I also made a tiny little movie showcasing my invention. My friend Conner did the editing on the video!
I loved making this project because of the editing. I edited my and other videos with my friends making this a blast to do!
