Marshmallow Challenge!

For the Marshmallow Challenge there were 4 teams. Each team needed to make the tallest self standing structure out of spaghetti with a marshmallow on top of it. We had 18 minutes to build the structure. The supplies we got were 20 pieces of spaghetti, a yard of tape, a yard of string, and a marshmallow that you had to put on top of the structure. As you can see in the picture with the notepad we wanted to do it so the spaghetti would have two strands at the bottom, more spaghetti going up, and string supporting the structure and wrapping around the marshmallow. It did not turn out like we planned. We needed to make four spaghetti legs at the bottom, tape holding the spaghetti to the ground, a couple of strands at the top to make it taller, string to make it tilt less, and our marshmallow on top. I think as a team we were pretty good. Everyone did their part well. Something smart we did is we built the structure with the marshmallow on it. I wouldn't change anything on our structure because it was a big success in my eyes. I think we did this so we could learn how to make structures steady. This also showed us how to work as a team that we can apply in other classes and in life. I wish we could do this again because now I know what to do and what not to. I really liked this Marshmallow Challenge. Please look at the 4 pictures from when the challenge was going on. Pictures by Emma.
