Extra credit policy:
· Extra credit will not be an option if work is missing or consistently late.
Quality work turned in before the due date may be eligible for an extra points.
·Extra credit may be an opportunity for students who are genuinely struggling with the curriculum and have asked for help, not necessarily for students consistently making straight As or Bs.
Any extra work done must be applicable to the course material being studied at that time. In other words, if the class is studying the Civil War or Greek mythology, topics need to pertain to that particular time period or that genre of literature.
· It is not up to the teacher to “assign” extra work or come up with ideas. What are your strong points? What skills and talents do you have that you can apply not only to the material being covered, but that will permit you to use applied knowledge as well as enrich your classmates experience ? Any extra credit needs to be approved ahead of time.
· Do not bring food items to class unless it is approved ahead of time. Food sensitive individuals may suffer a reaction because of products used.
· Any approved outside assignments must be completed one full week before the end of the marking period.
**The best way to get and keep your average at the level that is acceptable to you and to your parents is to turn your work in on time, study for quizzes and tests and to ask for help in understanding the material before you reach a point where you need to do more work on top of what you already have.
