7th Grade Language Arts--Class Expectations
Students will be prepared for class with completed work and a charged chrome book
Students will provide their own quality work
Students will show respect for all adults and their peers in the classroom. See the chart posted above for how to correctly email your teacher.
Students will respect classmates’ learning by remaining seated during instruction and participating in class by raising their hands
Students are responsible for making up all missed work when absent. The majority of your work will be found on Google Classroom when possible.
Always have a book with you to read.
Graded Work
Classwork will not be able to be corrected for a better grade. If you do not finish it in class, it is considered homework and should be turned in the next day, otherwise, it will be considered late.
Quizzes and tests will not be able to be corrected. You will have enough time in class to complete your work and ask questions to clarify information before any assessment.
More than three missing homework assignments will result in a full recess/lunch detention.
Homework Policies
Students are expected to complete all homework assignments neatly and on time
All work is expected to be written neatly or typed and printed at home. I do not print work for students.
Homework handed in more than 1 day late will result in 5% of the grade being deducted per day. After 5 days, it may not be accepted.
Plagiarism will not be tolerated (see handbook).
There will be opportunities throughout the school year to earn small increments of extra points to "bank." Students are encouraged to take advantage of that when the opportunities arise.
Grading Policy
Homework/Classwork - 15%
Quizzes - 25%
Tests - 30%
Projects/Writing - 30%
Students will be given a paper copy in class that is to be signed by both student and parent. There is a copy above for those that might have lost their copy.
