This workshop will engage participants in a hands-on lesson that we have run with the Year 7 English classes this year. The Treasure Quest was developed as the 'next step' to our first lesson which focused on learning more about the resources available in the LearningHub and how to use these efficiently.
The Treasure Quest lesson is designed to challenge students' capacity to apply these Library skills in a fun, interactive way and stretch specific learning dispositions required when using LearningHub resources. Catering for a full class of students, it runs as a kind of escape room in which four groups are racing against each other and the clock to solve a series of clues including: deciphering codes; finding patterns; solving riddles; working out padlock combinations; locating Dewey Decimal numbers; searching for ebooks and solving text mazes.
Workshop participant teams will be applying Learning@STLUKE'S dispositions in order to solve all the clues and unlock the final treasure box.
