In this session, participants will be able hear about strategies leaders used as they introduced a practice that focussed not just on content but disposition development. Practical ideas will be shared on both starting out and keeping it fresh.
In this session we will take a deep dive into the nitty-gritty of classroom life, and zoom in on a number of facets of classroom culture over which teachers have some control. We will look at how small day-to-day choices steer students unwittingly either in the direction of being passive, compliant exam performers, or adventurous, thoughtful, imaginative thinkers and learners - who also, by the way, do better on the tests. And we will explore how school leaders can encourage the necessary kinds of habit change in their teachers.
In this evidence-informed and challenging session we will consider the practical implications of the science of learning for teaching.
