Identifying plants can be a crucial step to installing a new landscape. Use the below resources to help you see what native plants you already have in your garden, identify plants you see out in the world that you like and determine if a plant is native or not.
Photo recognition apps such as iNaturalist, Pl@ntNet and PictureThis can be helpful tools but are often not sufficient alone to provide a positive identification. We strongly recommend following up with a diagnostic tool like Wildflower Search which has a very good mobile app for Apple or for Android. It is reliably accurate and operates without internet connection when in the field. We recommend using this to confirm any ID from photo apps.
