Employees cashing their checks in person on Friday can only cash them at the Downtown and Vandeventer Regions Bank. Both the treasurer's office and comptroller's offices will be unavailable Friday and unable to help with any issues at any other branches.
First and foremost thank you everyone who took the time to fill out the questionnaire. Here's what we learned from it. Each piece of the chart represents confidence in a certain field. The larger the portion the greater overall confidence was in the field.
Let's start by saying it's awesome that everyone is so confident in keeping track of their timecards. That's the first step to avoiding payroll errors. However, we're seeing very little confidence in Historical Corrections. Mistakes do happen and the lack of confidence in historical corrections could end up hurting our confidence in time cards in the long run.
The rest of the data that we captured all had a central theme. Overall payroll clerks felt that when the problem had to be passed on to another department, results tend to be less than satisfactory. We appreciate your feedback and will work to figure out the best way to communicate frustrations to make those better. We're currently working with DOP to create the modules for this site and we're excited to have their help with this.
Due to the closure of City Hall on Friday, July 5th:
Although the Friday after July 4th (July 5th) is a holiday for City employees, it is not a banking holiday. Therefore, the City’s payday will be Friday, July 5th 2024. Those with direct deposit will see their funds in the bank no later than Friday. Those who receive a paper check will be able to obtain their check from their payroll clerk Wednesday, July 3rd. After 2 PM but the check will be dated July 5th, 2024. Employees will not be able to cash your check until Friday.
Please inform all of your employees and if anyone was left off of this list that you know of, please forward to them.
We sent out a survey to find out how everyone's doing, what they're struggling with, what their strengths are and what we should build into this resource.
Results are overwhelmingly clarity of information and transparency of processes.
