For the next two weeks we will be learning all about the letter Tt, Thanksgiving, and Turkeys!
For our art projects we will make a turkey out of the letter T, paint a "Thankful Turkey" at the easel using feathers with things we are thankful for, make Thanksgiving placemats, and a fun turkey headband. During our second week we will start getting our room ready for Christmas by making ornaments for our class tree. This way when we return from Thanksgiving Break our room will be in Christmas mode!
We will also be working on our November Journals, letter Tt Packet, a lot of counting and graphing Thanksgiving items, and printing practice of our names.
Next Wednesday, November 19th will be our class Thanksgiving Feast. I will host a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Feast with the kids and we will get to watch the movie too.
Along with learning Thanksgiving songs, we will also continue our phonics lessons each morning at circle time. The kids have been doing great recognizing beginning and ending sounds, as well as rhyming words.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving! I am so thankful for such a great class. Just a reminder that we are off the entire week of November 24th.

Theme: Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do You See?
Letter: Bb
Last week the children did a wonderful job with our first letter packet! You will see a half sheet of paper attached to the letter packet. At the end of the week I ask each student individually if they can name the letter, the sound, and give me a word that begins with our letter. Please do not worry if your child is unable to do all three. This is a just a quick informal evaluation to let me know how they are doing. Also, if your child does not attend 5 full days of preschool, the packet may not be finished, especially in the beginning of the year. They are welcome to finish it at home, but they do not have to return it to school.
This week is all about the letter Bb! We will be reading, "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" and acting it out with puppets throughout the week. We will work on our letter Bb packet, chapter 2 in Religion, lots of activities with colors too. For our art projects, the students will be making a Bee for our alphabet project and a fun brown bear craft with paint and a fork!
