Letter "I" ~ " The Luck of the Irish"
this week the theme was “Radiant Rainbows” and the letter “R”. We painted rainbows and made rainbows coming from a cloud. We learned how rainbows occur and the order of all the colors. Have them sing the "The Colors of the Rainbow" song for you. We made rainbows from Skittles, M&Ms and water. they really loved this and it was so simple. We may have tasted a few as well;) If you have not heard we have some leprechauns in our school playing tricks on us! In our sensory bin students cut rainbow paper(scissor skills). The students also worked on a special book they are making that goes home at the end of the year. Religion we continue to talk about the season of lent. Hopefully, your child is sharing all they are learning in school with you. at home.
Another short week, so trying to get alot done in a short time. This upcoming week our theme is “Luck of the Irish and we will be learning about the letter “I”. We will talk about what it means to be Irish, St. Patrick’s Day traditions and perhaps catch a leprechaun in our “special trap” we will build in class. We will be learning some new St.Patricks Day songs/dances. The sensory bin will be filled with some fun St Patrick's Day toys. We will have an art station with stickers/stampers for the students to make their own St. Patrick's Day art. In math, students will be graphing with lucky charms cereal. The students will get a chance to taste Irish soda bread, if they choose on Tuesday. In religion we will discuss prayer during lent and how we pray. We will be making iguanas from the letter “I” and learn some fun facts about iguanas. We will also make a St. Patrick’s day necklace to help get ready for the holiday. Hopefully, the warm weather will stay and we can get outside this weekend.
