Target Skill:  Compare and Contrast

Tuesday, January 20th:  Target Skill  Author's Purpose

We will read Nature's Patchwork Quilt from our My View Book as our mentor text to introduce this skill.

Students will learn about PIE.  The three reasons author's write:  Persuade, Inform, Entertain.

They will learn to recognize these in other texts and identify the clues which help them to determine the author's purpose.
