Chapter 4: Multiplication
Students will begin learning about multiplication. They will learn how repeated addition is related to multiplication and will use arrays and grouping to solve multiplication problems. We begin with the basic foundation facts of multiplication. Multiplying by 0,1,2, 5 and 10
These facts allow students to solve any multiplication problem.
For instance:
7X8?
Break apart 7 into the foundation facts of 5 and 2.
5X8=40
2X8=16
40+16=56
7X8=56
It is essential they know their foundation facts so please practice skip counting by 2,5, and 10!
