St. Kate's was honored with the Uniservitate Global Service Learning Award in August 2024 for exceptional incorporation of service learning into curriculum and extracurriculars, specifically focusing on the university's work with Welcoming the Dear Neighbor. St. Kate's was 1 of 14 Catholic universities around the world to be honored.
The institutionalization of WTDN at St. Kate's takes the form of faculty-student collaborations across Reflective Women classes, research experiences, and other opportunities through the Office of Scholarly Engagement.
The 3-day Uniservitate conference was centered service-learning in Catholic higher education. Urbaniak Lesch, Dr. West, and Delgado-Palma presented about WTDN and its persistent presence on campus. Delgado-Palma also spoke on a student panel, highlighting her peer-reviewed research with WTDN and how such service learning enhanced her time at St. Kate's.
