The term "accommodation" may be used to describe an alteration of environment, curriculum format, or equipment that allows an individual with a disability to gain access to content and/or complete assigned tasks. Accommodations may not fundamentally alter core course components, and must be within reasonability of the course context. Our Student Accessibility & Accommodations office views this as a way to retrofit the environment that was not built with a diverse population of individuals in mind.

Student Accessibility and Accommodations supports students with disabilities, as defined under the ADA, with reasonable accommodations or resources for academics, clinical/fieldwork, campus, housing and dining. To discuss accommodations or accessibility at St. Kate's, please contact our office.
Housing and ESA Accommodations:
Please visit the "Housing" and "ESA" sections of this website located under "Student Resources" for detailed information and request process guidance.
Campus, Dining, or Physical Accessibility Needs:
Please contact or schedule a meeting (virtual or in person) with one of our Access Consultants. Students may use the "Meet with an Access Consultant" scheduling links on this website.
Academic Accommodations:
To determine eligibility for academic accommodations, the student needs to meet (virtually or in person) with one of our Access Consultants to participate in an interactive process. Students may use the "Meet with an Access Consultant" scheduling links on this website or contact us to coordinate. In this meeting, we will discuss the student's diagnosis(es) and accessibility barriers or concerns. Together, we will identify appropriate accommodations and/or resources.
Disability Verification: Related disability information/verification may be requested to determine accommodation eligibility. For academic accommodations, your past experiences, records of past accommodations or services (i.e. IEP, 504 Plan, Evaluations), healthcare/medical provider letters or reports, or diagnosis documentation may all be considered. The below forms may be used if needed.
Once confirmed, the student will receive an academic accommodation Eligibility Letter from our office, to distribute to their St. Kate's faculty members. It is the student's responsibility to deliver these in order to use the accommodations. We also encourage students to communicate directly or discuss their eligible accommodations and implementation with their faculty.
If you are also registered for courses at another college/university, please contact their accommodations office for those courses.
Please reach out to our office any time with accessibility or accommodation questions, concerns, or for problem-solving support.
