No. There are accommodations that are specific to fieldwork settings that are different from academic accommodations. Additionally, due to the physical and/or interpersonal nature of fieldwork, different accommodations may be appropriate in the fieldwork setting that are not needed in the academic setting.

Possible accommodations could include having a sign language interpreter, or have the fieldwork supervisor provide all feedback in written format. An Access Consultant will assist you in determining which accommodations are best suited for your needs and program of study.

The type of accommodation will vary from student-to-student dependent upon disability as well as field of study. Possible considerations could be local assignments, adjusted clinical hours or rotation time. An Access Consultant will help assist in determining which type of accommodations may be best suited for your needs and field of study.
No. The office of Student Accessibility and Accommodations act as a barrier between you and the faculty/staff within your program of study. You are not required to discuss details of your disability with your fieldwork coordinator.
