Our first morning in Cuba!
We had orientation at ClPS (Centro de Investigaciones Psicológicas y Sociológicas) where we will be having most of our lectures.
Amalia, our tour guide and translator, took us on a walking tour of La Habana Vieja (Old Havana). She gave us facts and “fun facts”, which were things she has heard but isn’t sure if they’re true. It was great to hear pieces of history and urban myths about some buildings and the people behind them.
We had a lovely lunch at Mojito-Mojito in Old Havana. While dining, there was a live band and a magician doing magic tricks. Entertainment while we waited for our food! Everything was plentiful and delicious!
In the evening, we went to see the National Ballet of Cuba. It was a compilation of different famous ballets and it was extraordinary.
After the ballet, the evening was free for dinner and whatever else we wanted. Everyone went to the Hotel Habana Libre near our homestays to get food and use the wifi since you can only access wifi in certain spots. We had to pay for a wifi card at the hotel, but it was only $1.54 for hours of wifi use.
It was a great first day and now it’s time to rest before our first day of lecture.
