Paraeducators play a vital role in supporting students yet high turnover rates challenge maintaining consistent academic support. This action research presentation focused on improving the retention of paraeducators within educational settings, particularly in special needs. The presentation will describe key factors contributing to paraeducators’ retention, including workspace conditions, job satisfaction, and support systems. Through data collection and analysis, the project sought to identify effective strategies and interventions that schools can implement to enhance job satisfaction and reduce turnover. Schedule adjustments, peer support, and organizational support ultimately ensure better student and paraeducator outcomes.
