If you are interested in chartering a new club/organization, let Student Center and Activities know so they can help you with the request form and preparation. The new club chartering deadline is typically the middle of October. This year's new club chartering deadline is Friday, October 14.
New clubs must have at least five interested members, establish at least one St. Kate's faculty/staff member as an advisor, complete the new club chartering request form, and create a constitution to begin the chartering process.
The chartering process is led by the Student Senate, in particular, by the Senate Organizational Affairs committee at senateorgaffairs@stkate.edu.
Some important questions to ask yourself before beginning the paperwork are:
What exactly is my idea? How would my idea for a chartered club/organization look? What activities/events would we do?
Is there already an existing chartered club/organization that is similar to my idea? Could I form a subgroup of that existing club/organization instead of chartering a competing group?
Does my idea align with St. Kate's mission and core values? Does my idea have interest and support from the College for Women students?
Do I have at least five interested students to become members of my new club/organization?
Do I have a St. Kate's faculty/staff member that could serve as my club advisor?
How would I want an advisor to serve and be involved with our group?
