THEME: Your Message to the President

What issue is most important to you or your community? Examine your selected topic from multiple perspectives and assess what action(s) the president should take after Inauguration Day.

Check out this competition for students 6-12 graders. If you are interested in creating a video for President Trump, I will forward the videos to him. Upload here and make sure your have your parents permission!

Poem Town 2025: Vermont poets are invited to submit one or two original poems to PoemTown St. Johnsbury 2025, using this year’s theme as a point of departure: “Belonging.” As always, PoemTown St. Johnsbury welcomes submissions from writers of any age, both amateur and published poets. Due Midnight on 2/28/25. Poetry Submission Guidelines

v Submission is open to poets of all ages who live or work in Vermont.

v Theme for 2025: Belonging. We encourage you to use this as a point of departure for your writing, but it is not required.

v Deadline for submissions is February 28, 2025 at midnight. No poems will be accepted after that.

v Poems must be original work. Please send no more than 2 poems. We will select at least one poem to post. This is not a contest.

v Poems can be no longer than 28 lines each, including spaces between lines of text.

v Poems should be submitted using a Google Form accessible from the Catamount Arts website (Submit poems here), and uploaded as Word documents only. If you have any trouble using the form (or have any questions), please contact us at 802-748-2600, ext. 109. If you do not use a computer, we will accept typed poems by mail or hand-delivered to PoemTown St. Johnsbury, c/o Catamount Arts, PO Box 324, St. Johnsbury, VT 05819.

v Please do not submit work that has been submitted to or displayed at any PoemCity, PoemTown Randolph or Poems Around Town events, or that has previously appeared in print elsewhere.

v By sending your work to PoemTown St. Johnsbury, you agree that PoemTown St. Johnsbury may use your poem(s) in display, promotional materials, and associated online, print, and other media venues.
