• After October 4th- Partnership with the Athenaeum celebrating the Americans with Disabilities Act Anniversary:  The Inclusive Arts Vermont exhibition Cycles 

• On Monday, October 21, 2024, we will be voting to select a new identity for our Grade 5.

• On Monday, October 21, 2024, all applications and draft speeches for Grade 5 Offices are due to Mrs. Fallon's Humanities Room.

• Grade 5 is celebrating the Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act by participating in a special program at The Athenaeum on Wednesday, October 23, 2024.

• On Monday, October 28, 2024, all Class candidates will be giving their campaign speeches.

• On November 4th+5th, 2024, 5th graders will be attending a field trip at the Museum.  

• On November 5, 2024, 5th Graders will vote for Class and Homeroom Officials.  

• On November 6, 2024, Elected Officials will be announced.

• On November 12, 2024, Commissioner of Labor Michael Harrington will visit the 5th Grade team to discuss service careers.  

• On Tuesday, November 26, 2024, Secretary of State Sarah Copeland-Hanzas (tentatively) will be visiting our school for our inauguration. 

• Student-led Conferences will begin on 12/2/24.

• Walking Field Trip to the History and Heritage Center on 12/4/24.

• Winter Activities begin on 1/24/25.

• Open Book Test in Humanities on 1/29/25.

• 100th Day of School on 2/11/25.  101st day of School on 2/12/25.

• Spelling Bee in grade 5 classrooms: 1/10/25. School-wide competition: Feb. 12th.  

• Book Fair:  March 10-19th.

• Pi Day:  March 13, 2025

• Monday, April 7 and Tuesday April 8th:  Fairbanks Field Trip *** Monday's session has been postponed until Monday, April 14th. 

• Thursday, April 10th, Mi'kmaq Author Julie Pellissier-Lush will be attending our Humanities classes. There will be a culminating performance at 2:10 PM in the Auditorium or Outdoor Classroom depending on the weather. At 6:00 PM there will be a voluntary program at the Athenaeum as well.  

• May 21st Grade 5 Congressional Hearings in Montpelier and tour of State House. Here is the Permission Slip. Behavior Contract is here. 

• June 2nd or 3rd:  Northwoods Stewardship Center Field Trip.

• June 6th Posttest for Humanities

• June 9th:  Filmmaker Bess O'Brien is visiting Grade 5 at 1:30 PM

• June 10th: Grade 5 Writing Sample

• June 11th: All Make Up is due.  Open House 3:30 PM - 4:45 PM

• June 12th:  Senator Sanders' Representative to visit St. J School 5th Grade. 12:30 - 2:30 PM Field Day... Stay tuned!

• June 13th: National Park Speeches and Olympic Reading Medals presented at the Athenaeum in the Domes of Yosemite Gallery.

• June 16th:  Sugar Ridge 

• June 17th: Last Day of School- Early Dismissal.
