Writing- Science Fiction
Students will create their own narratives within the genre of science fiction.
We are beginning a new unit on energy this week. Students will learn more about thermal (heat), light, sound, & kinetic energy.
No tests this week since it's a new unit.
Next unit: Motions in the Sky
Easter
Science Fiction studies- students will choose their own science fiction book to read in class. They'll complete a reading response journal as they read in class.
Storyworks Science Fiction stories "The Message" & "The Last Tigers"
Vocabulary- Unit 14 words - test Tuesday
Grammar-
It is so important for students to learn how to effectively write a complete sentence this year. They need to start with a capital letter, include a complete thought with both a subject and a predicate, and end in the correct punction, avoiding any fragments or run-ons.
Social Studies- American Bill of Rights and government
